Dear Diary ... Where we're at.

Dear Diary,

Lots of things have changed in my life since becoming "mum", even though my wriggly little baby is 15months old already, it all still feels very new.
I had a lot of advice from friends and family during my pregnancy. It was like a continuous postal delivery, sift through the advice you find appealing and leave the rest piled up for a later date (in most cases never to be seen again) however some advice has been useful, such as, allowing my in laws to tell me that story time is really important for babies and young children. (I mean, who would of thought it, definitely not a qualified Early Years Professional like myself?)

But that was just the beginning, the visits, the advice, the continuous texts asking "how are you all?" For us to reply with the same answer of "tired"!
The highlights always out weigh the negatives with these screaming little pooping machines, the first time she said mama, the first steps, the first tooth, the first smile. It makes it all worth while!

But someone could have given me a heads up prior to giving birth, most parents say, I didn't want to put you off.
Well I say... Try me, I've now gone close to 18months with barely any sleep, lack of food but still putting on weight and no sense of humour due to being a zombie 6 out of 7 days a week.

Keep learning. Keep living. Keep laughing and keep loving.
